For those arriving from Genoa (A12) the exit is “LA SPEZIA – SANTO STEFANO DI MAGRA”. From the A15 PARMA LA SPEZIA exit at the toll booth LA SPEZIA – SANTO STEFANO DI MAGRA towards La Spezia. After the toll booth follow the indication “La Spezia” and then “Cinque Terre”. After about 4 km you will find the state road n. 370 “Litoranea”, will take you straight to Manarola.
Once parked you can walk into the village. After the second bar go straight to the sea. At the end of the road you will find yourself in a small square in front of the “Aristide” restaurant.
About parking The historic centers of the Cinque Terre are closed to traffic, so no one, not even the residents can enter the country with their own if not for brief operations of loading and unloading. At the end of the state road No. 370 from La Spezia, at the entrance to the village of Manarola, the paid parking area begins. Be careful along the road to the signs of no parking (near the curves). At the parking lot you will find a bus service (subject to charges) for the town (church stop, bus stop in the village).
In Manarola in the railway station, many inter-regional trains arrive from all over Italy. Alternatively, you can arrive in La Spezia and from here take one of the many regional train services to Manarola.
For those coming from the north the best solution is to reach Genoa, then Sestri Levante, Levanto, Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore.
There are no trains in Porto Venere. The nearest railway connections are
La Spezia Centrale and four of the Cinque Terre villages (not Corniglia).
From La Spezia you can then come by bus, taxi or ferry.
The Genoa-Manarola line lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes over a distance of about 75 km. The Milano-Manarola line lasts approximately 3 hours and covers a distance of about 180 km. The Turin-Manarola line takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes covers a distance of about 240 km.
From Pisa airport take the junction for Pisa continuing towards Pisa Centro. Continue on the A12 Genova-Rosignano towards Genoa. The last part is on the A15 towards Parma-La Spezia towards La Spezia where you leave. The route runs along 73 km. Once in La Spezia you can decide to continue or drive along the remaining 12 km to reach Riomaggiore and from there Manarola, or you can opt for the train (see below)
From Genoa airport take the A10 Genova-Ventimiglia motorway direction Genova, continue on the A7 Milan-Genoa towards Milan and turn at the junction for the direction A12 Genova-Rosignano Livorno. From here continue on the A15 towards Parma-La Spezia where you leave. The route runs along 101 km. Once in La Spezia you can decide to continue or drive along the remaining 12 km and reach Riomaggiore and then Manarola.
